Challenged
All,
On Friday afternoon they moved Dallas to isolation as the VRE bacteria showed up in her urine culture. This was at the time devastating news and I felt so helpless. However, after three and a half days of digesting this I can honestly say "we" are ok! She still has a fever but thankfully the throwing up stopped Friday evening. Over the weekend she has eaten yogurt, applesauce and banana baby food and seems to be headed upward despite the persistent fever. They started her on an IV fungal treatment today in hopes to break the fever but for now it's just a waiting game. We have to wait for her white blood cells to come back and with this her fever should break and her mouth and throat will heal. Then we can go home! As for the VRE, it is a antibiotic resistive bacteria and the isolation was necessary because it is highly contagious. The irony is she picked it up here.
Will keep you updated, thank you for your continued words of encouragement.
xoxo
Much love,
Mom

Dallas,
Hang in there pretty girl. Never ending prayers are yours!
Love,
Mrs. Roe
