11/06/08 11:20 a.m. chemo ended
All,
Our week has been challenging! She has not been able to keep anything down since Monday and she started a fever this morning. They are going to monitor her fever on an outpatient basis for now. Even though chemo is done we are still at the hospital and will come back tomorrow for hydration and a blood transfusion. Unfortunately her counts are already dropping rapidly. We knew this was going to happen and that is why I elected to stay as this is the best place to be! Dallas looks like she has been through hell and back but in time her body will recover and we will see that beautiful smile we all love and adore!
Our first round of scans (CT, Bone, CAT, MRI and echo cardio gram) will be this Monday and then we will continue those every three months for the first year. The months in between will just be a chest x-ray and blood work. Sounds like a lot I know, but they assure me it's for the better and definitely out ways the risk involved with the scans. They monitor like this as these sarcomas go to the lungs. One of her nurses asked me if this worried me and my only response is NOT AT ALL! Dallas is cancer free and remained whole! God is amazing and it's through his love and grace that Dallas is where she is today.
I will try my best this week to keep you more informed as I know everyone is counting down the days until she is home for good! Thank you so much for you continued thoughts and prayers! xoxo
Much love,
Mom
