Spoke too soon!
All,
Dallas started a high fever last night and we brought her to Syracuse this morning. Unfortunately we have been admitted and they have advised they will not discharge her until her counts come back up. Even if the fever goes away and there isn't any sign of infection. Yuck.....I'm once again writing to you from a hospital room.
Please just pray for Dallas to be healthy and her counts to come back ASAP!!!
Much love,
Mom

Dallas,
Hey girl, don't give up. This is just another "speed-bump" in your plan. Don't let it stop you (it can really only slow you down).
I grew up on a horse farm and did all of the "breaking" of the young ponies. One of the first things I remember my dad saying was that "if you get thrown, you brush yourself off and get back on." It's the only way the horse will learn to be a good, rideable animal--otherwise, they learn bad habits...like if "I throw the little crybaby, he'll leave me alone and I can eat more grass." Anyway, it also taught me to get up, wipe off my tears and snot, and get over my fear of getting thrown and just enjoy the challenge of teaching a wild pony to let me ride it like it was my best friend.
You don't have to be friends with your cancer, but don't let it throw you! When you do get thrown, its ok to cry, just get back up and clean yourself off and give it another (and another...and another...and another) and another try, until you've mastered another challenge. You've made it so far!
Still praying for your complete recovery.
Jay Hartman
