Hello

Hello to all, just wanted to log some of my random thoughts.

Aside from the trip to Syracuse for platlettes on Wednesday, it was as close to a normal week as we can ask for.  Did you know platlettes are brownish - yellow?  A little known fact that Cliffy would know...
Dallas stayed in "lock down" all of last week.  We call it that because this is the week when her counts are so low that she can come down with a fever or infection so very easily - so we keep her in the house and away from any visitors or potential germs / bugs.  She basically is in her bedroom for 5 - 7 days straight.  As usual, she handles it remarkably well...  She has been such a strong girl through all of this so far!  I NEVER knew she had it in her to be so brave, she impresses me every day!!  She takes everything in stride and rolls with it with not much complaining or objecting.  Well, there is the occasional outburst but that is usually the result of either me provoking/teasing her a bit too much or mom's black strap molasses smoothies......

Speaking of black strap molasses - Christine and all of her natural supplements are really helping Dallas!  She has dodged any hospital stays due to infection or fever and I really suspect it is the diet Christine has Dallas on and the many supplements ( natural ) that she gives Dallas.  If you have any type of rash, scratch or bump on your skin - go get Tea Tree Oil, you will be amazed with the results.  See - even I am catching on to the non-traditional treatments....

We were able to participate in the Relay for Life walk-athon that was held in Hammondsport.  My sisters place, The Snug Harbor sponsored a team.  Christine and I did our hour + on the track.  We really wish we could have done more but we were physically out of gas after the long week....  It was a really nice event - hopefully next year we can do the entire 12 hours and participate deeper!

The ladies drove to NYC last night - today and tomorrow they have all day tests, scans, x rays in preparation for next weeks surgery.  I really hope they can find the time to do something fun while in the city and not on chemo!

It should be a good weekend coming up, the wine festival is at Watkins Glen - Christine and I are planning on going, if anyone wants to join us, just call - the more the merrier.  It is a really fun event and the wine flows all day long....  Then on Sunday, the Friends of Dallas benefit.  The ladies - Kate, Nancy and Fran have put forth a lot of effort and time for the benefit.  I am really excited and look forward to it.  It is lining up to be a great day!  I wonder what song Kate has chosen to sing?
